Anxiety is a normal reaction to stress. It helps one deal with tense situations. A type of generalized anxiousness.  In fact, in general, it helps one cope. When anxiety becomes an excessive, irrational dread of everyday situations, it has become a disabling disorder.

Natural Remedies for Anxiety

These are a few natural remedies that are being explored for anxiety. 

Bodywork
Massage therapy, CranioSacral therapy, Shiatsu, and other forms of bodywork are widely used to diminish muscle tension, relieve stress, and improve sleep.
Mind/Body Techniques
Meditation, Deep Breathing techniques, physical exercise, yoga, tai chi, and biofeedback are just some of the stress reduction techniques used for anxiety. Try different techniques and determine which routine you can stick to with your schedule.

Aromatherapy
Plant essential oils can be added to massage oil,  infusers, or even baths. Essential oils used for anxiety and nerve or muscle tension are: bergamot, cypress, geranium, jasmine, lavender, melissa, neroli, rose, sandalwood, ylang-ylang.

Valerian Herb
The herb valerian (Valeriana officinalis) is best known as a herbal remedy for insomnia. People with mild anxiety have also used Valerian,  but the research supporting its use for anxiety is limited.
